 So after a long, successful career as a trumpeter, composer, stylistic innovator and band – leader, it’s not surprising that he made a name for himself. Don’t quite know why the story is so important. The big deal about Kind of Blue is that’s it’s the quintessential jazz album. It should be in every collection for anyone who even thinks they know jazz. Miles was an explorer. He has plenty of detractors (mostly musicians I think) but he was looking for something other than everything that came before. He came up with the idea for Modal Jazz for this particular record reinventing jazz since the rise of be bop. I have seen some that unfortunately you will probably never see. The photographer who took wedding photos for some friends of mine about 25 years ago had a book FILLED with photos he had shot of Miles over the years. Performing, and backstage stuff. Some very close up, and all amazing.

He also took a photo of me playing guitar and singing at the wedding that I like, and I generally don’t care for having my picture taken. Most people wouldn’t wear a T-shirt outdoors in -15°F, but some might for short periods of time. You also used the word “able”. That suggests the ability to do it. Once again I think there are some people with that ability, and again they are uncommon and small in number, but it certainly might be “normal” for them. I wear T-shirts all winer long inside, and pop out side occasionally to pick up the mail, return our garbage cans from the curb to the garage, etc. Usually I don’t throw on a light jacket or coat to do that if I’m only going to be outside for a minute or two. Besides, to me cold lime that feels good for the few minutes I’m outside.
